About me
Dobro Dosli, Kia Ora, Far North! I’m Marty, and I am running as a candidate for the Northland Regional Council. I am born and bred in Kataia. My principal place of residence is in the Far North Constituency. I have served the community in various roles for many years including 25 years in sport and have served as a voluntary fireman. I will continue serving in the years to come.
I believe we have an incredible opportunity to shape a stronger, more vibrant future for our community. I am committed to being a dedicated and accessible voice for everyone.
My priorities
I am running for the regional council because I am passionate about three key areas that are vital to our region’s wellbeing and prosperity:
Economic Development and Local Business: I am all about balance—supporting our local businesses, promoting sustainable tourism, and creating new job opportunities, all while harnessing the potential of our people, land and sea.
Infrastructure and Community Services: Integrating the regional and district councils and their bureaucracies, I will be the voice for balance and common sense.
Environment: The natural beauty of the Far North is our greatest Taonga. I will support initiatives that protect our waterways, enhance conservation efforts, and promote sustainable practices to preserve our environment for future generations.
